BMW E46 325i Camshaft Sensor Fault

Hello Guys.

I am working on this E46 325i with M54 engine. It has a camshaft exhaust sensor fault. I have scoped the sensor and it seems OK. What is the next step?
If I erase the fault it comes up again. Car has symptoms of a slight rough idle witch hunts occasionally.

BMW X3 E83 2006 CID Issue

Good morning,
I have in workshop a BMW X3, series E83 from 2006 with a dead Central Information Display.

The radio and others working perfectly but the screen in the center of dash is "Black". So you can touch every button on the radio and it's working but you can not see the choice you've made.

In Belgium it costs an whole lot of money (1.564 Euros, excl VAT)!!!

Someone knows a repair-shop or any other help?

BMW 525i 2006 DTC 4F8D [SOLVED!]

I have this BMW that came in with code 4F8D. Feels like it takes off in 3 gear. Reverse seems fine. (1st gear). Does the tranny need to be replaced or will changing the square gaskets fix the problem? (The one between the valve body and the tranny) or should the solenoids be replaced too? I heard you can get them separate from the valve body. If i knew the valve body would fix it i would replace that. The fluid looked black but not a lot of shavings in the magnets. Looked pretty normal. I have it apart but would like some opinions before i put it back together.

Hi, I have a BMW X5 3.0D 2004, the vehicle will not start because it was entered wrong code on the Onboard computer.
I do not have the code, I have been told that you can find with ISTA. Someone can tell me how can do?

BMW E46 318D Turbo Boost Fault 4530

E46 M47N 318D turbo boost fault 4530.

I have this in for a new turbo, the old unit blew seal on exhaust side of turbo, seemed unusual that inlet side appeared not to be effected. I replaced turbo with rebuilt exchange unit the later type with electronic actuator box built onto it. I have this fault code:
4530 (charge air pressure control, small turbo control deviation)
I am torn between actuator was not set up correctly by rebuild company or boost pressure/map sensor is faulty. I don't think its any problem with sooted vanes as it's brand new and map sensor is just no fun to get too I have pulled it out and cleaned it but make little difference as yet. I just wondered if others had any knowledge on whether actuator can be tested/set up in situ or not?

Hello guys. I have problem with BMW E46 2.0D 136KM, 1999year.

The case is suddenly it lost boost pressure. I checked on Delphi and it is just atmospheric pressure 990mbar.
I can see that wastegate actuator doesn't work at all, when i connect vacuum short without boost regulator then actuator works, it seems that it ends on this boost solenoid.
I checked wire from ECU to valve. There is only 6V on wire after ignition on and 0V after ignition off, i suppose there should be 12V after ignition on.
I checked valve and it has 17ohm resistance and it is correct.
I do not know why there is no good voltage on this valve.
Please help.

Lads a friend of mine rang me today and told me there was oil in his coolant tank.
I havent seen the car yet and not sure if its down to head gasket.
Do these cars suffer from oil cooler gaskets and o rings and what other things should i look out for when i look at it?

Lads getting code 4A6E glow plug cylinder 1 activation, and the same for cylinder 2 4A5E. The four glow plugs have been replaced and code still there.
The customer told me the battery was replaced a few weeks ago but he thinks a battery replacement register was not carried out when it was changed.
Would the battery been replaced without register have anything to do with the glow plug issues? Or could it be a glow plug controller?

BMW E87 2007 SZL Coding Issue

Hi all,
I have a 1 series in that had the SZL replaced with a second hand unit and now has DSC lights on, I have tried to code DSC module but i get this error:

So I read with INPA and it showed no VIN so programmed VIN using WinKFP
and now VIN is correct but still same error, DIS is saying SZL will be coded through DSC and once coded can calibrate sensors.
Can anyone help with the NCS error?
Using V2.57 Daten's.

BMW E60 Failed ICOM A2 + B Navi Business Programming [SOLVED!]

Hello,

When i'm programing Navigation Business from E60 ISTA/P erase flash and says that control unit don't response.

Next i try WinKFP and next NFS programing but always flash is eresed and next error that control unit don't response, now i have 3B and 63 and 92 ECU's with erased flash.

How can i fix this problem? I must program MASK with programmer or is a solution how to fix Navi business after an unsuccessful programming?

Also in this car i have no communication with tel (mulf is broken) could this be the reason?

Mini 2009 Diesel NON Starter

Hello peeps, am trying to sort out a non start issue with a 2009 Mini Diesel. Basically the lady who owns it drove to her hairdressers, came out afterwards and her car wont start.

Permanent Faults are 4691 Supply voltage 3 ECM short to ground.
Can someone please help with a wiring diagram or which Pins to check for power/ earth etc?

Subject: Important Information regarding DME Replacements in X5 and 3 series vehicles with the N55 Engine
Due to an internal software issue in replacement DME modules for the X5 and 3 Series with the N55 engine it is not possible to program the new DME with ISTA/P. This problem affects both dealer and independent workshops. While a solution is being developed for those vehicles any DME replacements can only be completed at a BMW Center by having a field engineer come in to complete the work. We apologize for this inconvenience and are working to resolve the issue as quickly as possible.

BMW E93 2008 CCC-BO Disable In Coding?

Hello, (BMW E93 from 2008 year).

In this car i have removed all MOST components (radio, Bluetooth, etc). In FA i removed all i see codes about entertainment like, multifunction steering, aux, Bluetooth, radio etc and now when i connect ISTA and do complete identification i still have CCC-BO in ecu list. How/where i can remove this ECU that ISTA will be don't detect that this ecu have no communication?
It is possible to remove CCC-BO from ECU list?

BMW E90 2006 CAS Replacement & Programming Issue [SOLVED!]

Hey Guys.

This is the first time i have had an issue when replacing a NEW Control Unit.

I've got a 2006 E90 which has a CAS-2 installed originally.

I ordered a new replacement CAS to chassis number, which supersedes to CAS-3.
I have installed and set-up ISTA-P session, but basic and programmed numbers keep coming up for manual input.

Anyone had this issue? call beer

I'm thinking the problem lies with the ISTA-P Version not being new enough to recognize the new CAS variant.

I have this in with blocked DPF far beyond regen now, due to glow plug fault present for last year or two, which has prevented regeneration process. My insitu cleaner cancelled his appointment with me today, all DPF flange bolts rotten and customer pleading poverty so insitu cleaning was best option as this is only the start of her problems. In order also to expedite her in being the end of mine I decided to remove temp sensor spray DPF cleaner, replace sensor then run up to full temp and spray TFR through inlet system which then steams out though DPF at high revs. This seemed to be quite successful in a pretty short space of time. Exhaust back pressure was 30mb at idle rising to nearly 500mb at full blast after cleaning I brought it down to 3mb at idle and never got it over 50mb at any high revs or speed. In disbelief at how quickly I resolved this I continued with cleaning only to discover pressure started to rise again and this 3FFO air flow fault code occurred it deletes but re occurs every time engine is run. I am wondering if I have upset swirl flaps causing more muck to loosen and partially block DPF or CAT. I just have a gut feeling it’s not going to be MAF sensor but whatever it is she won’t want to spend, the trouble when you do work for near nothing you find more work you know you’ll be fixing for even less that. I will drive it home and sleep on it hopefully not both at the same time! sweating

BMW 745 E65 2002

Hi.
I have the above car in with a non start which I have traced to a faulty DME. The customer does not want the expense of a brand new one so is asking if he can supply a used unit along with a CAS and key from a donor vehicle.

Can this be done and will any issues arise with coding and communication from other ECU's due to VIN mismatch or what would need to be done for it to work correctly?

BMW E46 318i 2002 Losing Voltage Issue

Hi Guys.

Some words of inspiration please.

I have the above vehicle which starts & runs fine, but when driving it will lose voltage down to 11V (voltmeter connected to jump start connections under bonnet).
When this happens the car loses power, but does not cut out just comes down to idle, if you try to rev it coughs & spits leave on idle for a while & the voltage comes back up to 14V & you can drive again.

I have replaced alternator, cleaned all connections, battery is quite new.

Throws up a fault with alternator also Crank & Exhaust Cam sensor.
Also when voltage drops & you try to throttle the battery light flashes but goes out if you let it idle.

Cam timing has been checked OK.

If you drive steady it does not seem to happen.

Any words of wisdom appreciated its doing my head in.
